PROJECT: MAJOR ESL - MADRID 2022

ESPORTS EVENT PROJECT
This is a project of a CS:GO event in Madrid.
DESCRIPTION:

We are going to hold a Major, which is a Counter Strike: Global Offensive competition with a $1 million prize to be shared between the teams and sponsored by Valve, the developers of the game.
The competition is a Swiss single elimination format, the parts of the event we will be running are the 4-6 stages, the New Legends stage and the New Champion stage where 16 teams will compete in person and in front of an audience to win the prize.
To do this we need a large venue where we can set up two stages, a main stage where the main matches will be played and a secondary stage where the overlapping matches will be played.

OBJECTIVES AND TARGET AUDIENCE:

The goal of the event is to bring the world's best Counter Strike teams to Madrid, while expanding and raising awareness of the world of eSports.
With an average of 360000 views per match and 126 hours of broadcasting at the last major in Berlin, we want to improve these numbers, as ESL is a bigger company than Starladder and has a large fan base, so it won't be difficult to improve these numbers.
There will be around 10,000 people, probably in groups, mostly men between 15 and 40 years old, and minors must be accompanied by an adult, as the game is for people over 18. These are people who like video games and competitions.

LOCATION:

The event will be held at the Pabellón Multimedia Madrid Arena, which is a venue for events in Madrid. As it is not a team stadium, we will have more dates available.
The venue will have three stands with a stage in the middle, everything will be decorated as one of the maps of the game, and in the middle of the venue will be the trophy.
With this layout we will be able to accommodate around 7000 people, also on one side of the stage will be the players area and on the other side the commentary area.
DISTRIBUTION OF SPACES:

The blue areas are the grandstands and the way they will be positioned, the entrance to the arena will be from behind the grandstands.
The green areas are the "FAN" areas, where the teams and the organisation will have places to meet the supporters of each team and to buy the T-shirts and other merchandising.
The black area is the stage, in the front part the cup will be displayed with two stairs on the sides and in the back part there will be the tables with the computers and a led screen in the background.
It will be a soundproof booth, so that the teams are as little affected by the reactions of the crowd as possible, and there will be another booth behind it so that overlapping matches can be played there.
The pink areas are the players' and commentators' areas, with the teams resting in one and the commentators from different countries in the other.

LIGHTS:

This would be the grid of lights, the pink are mobile robotic floor spots.
The blue ones are LED spotlights that can change colour depending on what we want at that moment.
Smoke machines would also be added to the stage.
CAMERAS:

1 and 3 (4.5 - 63 mm, 14x) two wide-angle with zoom to cover the whole area.
2 telephoto shots of the stadium.
4 and 5 tele and normal general shots.
6 Normal with a shot of the cup.
7 and 8 normal with movement also for a shot of the stands.
9 and 10 cranes with normal lens for general shots of the stadium and stage.
11 and 14 general shots of the players
12 and 13 handheld cameras following the two teams.
And 10 GoPros in each team for each player.
SCENARIO:
The scenario will have as its main theme a map from the game being played, Overpass. It is a map set in a Russian city, it has a lot of brown and drums,
The stage will be dark metal like one of the parts of the map and there will be metal drums on the sides of the stage and containers on the sides.
ADVERTISING AND PROMOTION:

As it is an expected international event, similar to a World Cup, we already have a basic publicity as expected.
The publicity would start with the ESL Twitter account, where we would make regular announcements. There would be a couple of competitions to get the best entries both in the international account and in each country. We would talk to companies like UBEAT and we would need sponsors for the event, MAPFRE is usually a sponsor of ESL events and also Movistar+.
We can also talk to an energy drink brand, like Monster, which is usually appropriate for the type of audience that will be attending the event. We can also talk to a computer peripherals brand like Razer and Nvidia as a computer component brand.
